Home Care & Support at Home Chiropractic Care in Umina Beach

If you’re receiving a Home Care Package or are enrolled in the new Support at Home program, you may be able to use your funding to access chiropractic care at Chiro Pro. We bill your provider directly, making it simple and hassle-free to get the care you need. Staying active, mobile and pain-free as you age matters — and chiropractic can play an important role in helping you do exactly that.

What Are Home Care Packages & Support at Home?

Home Care Packages are Australian Government-funded packages that help older Australians access services and support to remain living independently at home. From 1 July 2025, Home Care Packages are transitioning to the new Support at Home program, which provides a similar range of supports with some changes to how funding is structured and managed.

Allied health services — including chiropractic care — can be included in both Home Care Packages and Support at Home plans where they are identified as supporting your health, wellbeing and independence goals.

How Chiropractic Can Help

For older Australians, chiropractic care can make a meaningful difference to quality of life. At Chiro Pro we regularly help older patients with:

  • Chronic back and neck pain that has been present for years
  • Arthritis and joint stiffness affecting movement and independence
  • Balance problems and dizziness that increase the risk of falls
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Hip and knee pain affecting the ability to walk and stay active
  • Postural decline and loss of mobility
  • Recovery from injury or surgery

Staying mobile and pain-free is one of the most important factors in maintaining independence as you age — and that’s exactly what we focus on at Chiro Pro.

How Billing Works

At Chiro Pro we bill your Home Care Package provider or Support at Home provider directly — meaning there is no need for you to pay out of pocket and claim back. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Speak with your care coordinator or package provider and ask whether chiropractic care can be included in your plan
  2. Confirm that allied health services are included in your current package level and that funding is available
  3. Ask your provider to approve Chiro Pro as your chiropractic provider and arrange direct billing
  4. Contact Chiro Pro to book your first appointment and let us know you’ll be attending under a Home Care Package or Support at Home plan
  5. Bring your provider details to your first visit and we’ll take care of the billing from there

If you’re unsure whether chiropractic is covered under your package or have questions about the process, give us a call and we’ll help you work it out.

Who Can Access This?

To access chiropractic care under a Home Care Package or Support at Home plan you generally need to:

  • Be an older Australian approved for a Home Care Package (Level 1–4) or enrolled in the Support at Home program
  • Have allied health or health and wellbeing services included in your care plan
  • Have available funding in your package for chiropractic care

Your care coordinator is the best person to confirm your eligibility and arrange approval. If you don’t have a care coordinator, give us a call and we can point you in the right direction.

Please Note — Clinic Appointments Only

At this stage Chiro Pro sees all patients at our clinic at 1/441 Ocean Beach Road, Umina Beach. We do not currently offer home visits. If you require assistance getting to the clinic, speak with your care coordinator as transport support may be available as part of your package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can chiropractic be included in any level of Home Care Package?

Allied health services including chiropractic can be included in any package level (1–4), however the amount of funding available varies depending on your package level. Your care coordinator can confirm whether you have sufficient funding available for chiropractic care.

What is the difference between a Home Care Package and Support at Home?

Home Care Packages are being transitioned to the new Support at Home program from 1 July 2025. The new program aims to provide more flexible and responsive support. If you are currently on a Home Care Package you will transition to Support at Home — your care coordinator will guide you through any changes that affect your services.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

A GP referral is not required to see Chris at Chiro Pro under a Home Care Package or Support at Home plan. You simply need approval from your package provider to include chiropractic care in your plan. Your care coordinator can arrange this.

What if my funding runs out mid-treatment?

If your package funding runs low, speak with your care coordinator about whether additional funding can be allocated or whether your package level can be reviewed. If funding is unavailable you are always welcome to continue as a private patient so your treatment isn’t interrupted.
